Hard to believe that I have taken 5000 shots with the A75 I got in April.
I love this picture — took several of them with this here bovine in various stages of cud-chewing. This one seemed to capture the moment best.
They were beautiful, those cows in the mist…

I just discovered this online magazine called The Digital Journalist following a link there from somewhere.
The December 2005 issue features an article by Phillip Robertson named Unembedded. Robertson writes about how he himself and the four photographers Thorne Anderson, Yassir Jarallah, Rita Leistner and Kael Alford set out to document the “other side”, crossing the lines US Army and Mahdi Army lines on a journey to the old town of Najaf in August 2004.
He tells an important story about humanity and also gives a quick glance on the motivation of the men and children fighting against the US troops.
We walked slowly to the shrine in the old city, past dozens of fighters in black, leaning against the walls with their weapons. It was a moment of relief, of somber triumph. Other photographers and journalists who have risked everything to cover the war from the other side know this feeling well because they have made this crossing or one just like it many times. Fighters on the other side of the street took us in, and there was an innocent, human quality in this moment that I cannot describe even a year later. It would have been easy for them to kill two American journalists, accuse them of being spies, but they did not. Perhaps that is all that needs to be said.
Please read the full article Unembedded, by Phillip Robertson.
There is also a photo gallery along the article showing really great pictures, but beware! - they are not for the weak and definitely won’t leave you light-hearted!

I put this on here large, I think it looks best big. Two things I’m no good at, keeping indoor plants alive, and wrapping presents.
